Best Intimate Place to Elope in California
Best Place to Elope in California for Introverts. Not a big fan of crowds? California is one of the most beautiful states to elope full of iconic landmarks and national parks like Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Big Sur, Red Wood NP, Sequoia NP, and many more! So naturally, because of their infamous beauty, people FLOOD into these spots and that might be more challenging to find intimate location for an elopement. That’s why I want to show you that you don’t need to go to those super well-known places to get epic photos.
But if you’re stuck and don’t even know where to start looking for your location, click this button here!
Scenario 1: You do want to elope in well-known landmarks
1. Prioritize Sunrise
You have to be willing to go when nobody wants to (usually early). Most people don’t want to wake up early, so that’s the best time to go, in my opinion, to get the best lighting and the least amount of crowds.
2. Pick the “Right” Season
I would avoid the peak season (usually summer). If you’re willing to sacrifice and elope in cooler weather, there won’t be as many people there.
3. Avoid Weekends
If you didn’t already know, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the worst days to elope when trying to avoid crowds. There will be significantly more people in the park and you will have trouble navigating through it all.
Scenario 2: You don’t want to elope in well-known landmarks
1. Prioritize Lighting
Regardless of where you go in California, I highly HIGHLY recommend planning your photoshoot around sunset or sunrise to get the best out of these lesser-known places. This will make your photos way more epic.
2. Scout around the landmarks
Let’s say you like the mountain landscape, then I recommend you look around Yosemite. You will be surprised by the number of beautiful landscapes that surround the park.
Where to elope?
There are many great lesser-known locations to pick from but here’s one of my favorite!
Stanislaus National Forest
This location is just a few hours north of Yosemite but is truly a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a location that closely resembles Red Wood NP or Sequoia, then this is the place! I also know a very epic location that will definitely leave your jaws on the ground! This is one of the best places to elope for introverts.
Here’s an example elopement from this location.
